On January 28, 2024, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting on the 4900 block of Holt Avenue, near North Nellis and East Lake Mead boulevards. Upon arrival, they found 32-year-old Davion Devon Smith suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
