In the east Las Vegas Valley, a tragic event unfolded on the evening of March 18, 2024, leading to the death of 26-year-old Gabriel Garcia, a Hispanic man. The circumstances surrounding his death began to emerge when he was left at North Vista Hospital in North Las Vegas shortly after 8 p.m. with a gunshot wound. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was transferred to University Medical Center, where he was ultimately pronounced deceased.
The investigation into the incident was
initiated by the North Las Vegas police but was later taken over by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Section. Detectives determined that the shooting had occurred on the 4700 block of East Owens Avenue, near Marion Drive. The Clark County Coroner's office officially ruled Garcia's death a homicide.
As the investigation continues, authorities have not yet released information about any potential suspects. To date, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is actively seeking information from the public to help piece together the events that led to Garcia's death and to identify those responsible.
