Deputy Josh Owen, a 44-year-old officer with the Pope County Sheriff's Office in Minnesota, tragically lost his life in the line of duty on April 15, 2023, which also happened to be his birthday. The incident occurred in the small town of Cyrus, located in west-central Minnesota, when Owen and two other law enforcement officers responded to a domestic violence call at an apartment building around 7:30 p.m.
