On June 29, 2024, 22-year-old Ahmed Ibrahim Cariif of Faribault, Minnesota, was fatally shot in the parking lot of the Amazon Fulfillment Center in Lakeville. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner confirmed that Cariif died from a gunshot wound to the chest, ruling his death a homicide.
