The grim discovery began with a welfare check requested by concerned coworkers when Erin Abramson, the ex-wife of Kathryn's husband, Anthony Nephew, failed to show up for work. Police arrived at Abramson's residence to find her and her 15-year-old son, Jacob Nephew, deceased from gunshot wounds.
