On June 25, 2023, 63-year-old Larry D. Braun of Victoria, Kansas, died following a shooting incident outside the Horseshoe Bar in Hays. Emergency responders arrived at the scene in the early morning hours and found Braun with a gunshot wound to the neck. He was transported to Hays Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The Hays Police Department arrested 40-year-old Keith A. Ostrom of Hays at the scene on suspicion of second-degree murder. Ostrom later claimed self-defense, ...Read More
