In the early hours of Sunday, September 10, 2023, the life of a young Black/African American man, 19-year-old Zylez James, was tragically cut short in Wichita, Kansas. The incident unfolded around 2:15 a.m. in the parking lot of an apartment complex located in the 4000 block of West Memory Lane. Responding to a shooting call, police officers discovered James unconscious and suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper and lower body.
