On January 26, 2024, 19-year-old Jhiquez "Quez" Roberts of Wichita, Kansas, was fatally shot alongside 14-year-old Emoni Shears. The incident occurred around 11:56 p.m. in the 5200 block of East Kensington Street. Both victims managed to transport themselves to a local hospital but succumbed to their injuries shortly after arrival.
