In the early evening hours of March 6, 2024, Vincent Lee Walker, a 39-year-old Black / African American male, was fatally shot near a bus stop in Lawrence, Kansas. The incident occurred in the 700 block of Vermont Street, directly across from the Lawrence Public Library, shortly after 5 p.m. Walker, a local musician known by the stage name "V-Dubb," was a familiar face to many in the community.
