On March 12, 2023, the young male was fatally shot along Highway 22 in an incident that also left his 16-year-old brother critically injured. The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office responded to the scene around noon, where they discovered Treylon had succumbed to his injuries. His brother was rushed to a nearby hospital with life-threatening wounds, though his condition was later reported to be improving.
Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from an argument between juveniles. In the days that followed, the community mourned the loss of a young man remembered for his positive attributes. His former football coach described him as a 'humble kid, very happy, very mannerable, very respectable,' with inherent leadership qualities. The investigation into Treylon's death led to several arrests. A 16-year-old male, who was not publicly named due to his age, turned himself in to authorities in St. Bernard Parish.
