In the late hours of a Wednesday in August 2023, a domestic situation in Heflin, Louisiana, turned fatal, ending the life of Tyrone Winzer. Just after midnight, the Webster Parish Sheriff's Office received a call reporting a disturbance. When deputies arrived, they found that Winzer, a male, had been shot and killed.
The investigation into the shooting quickly led to a suspect who lived across the street from Winzer. A 23-year-old woman named Chandrika C.
Shehee was identified by two witnesses as the person who shot Winzer with a 9 mm handgun. Shehee was taken into custody and subsequently charged with second-degree murder. During questioning, she told investigators that she was trying to protect her family. Law enforcement officials noted that at the time of the shooting, Winzer was unarmed. The sheriff also mentioned that Winzer had a history of domestic violence.
This was not Winzer's first encounter with law enforcement regarding violent behavior. In November 2016, at the age of 38, he was arrested for the attempted second-degree murder and felony domestic abuse battery of his then-girlfriend. In that incident, deputies responded to a 911 call and found the victim with multiple stab wounds to her torso. The victim and witnesses told deputies that Winzer had stabbed her during an argument. At the time of that arrest, he was on parole until 2025. Following the 2023 shooting, Shehee was booked and held as the legal process against her for the death of Tyrone Winzer began.
