On August 31, 2023, 27-year-old Brennan Mitchell was found unresponsive with gunshot wounds in the 8800 block of Palmetto Street in New Orleans' Hollygrove neighborhood. Officers from the New Orleans Police Department responded to the scene around 12:04 p.m., where Mitchell was pronounced dead.
