In the fall of 2023, the life of 43-year-old Kevin King, a male resident of Shreveport, Louisiana, was tragically cut short by an act of violence. On the evening of October 20th, officers were dispatched to a residence on Milton Street. Upon their arrival, they discovered King unresponsive in a bedroom. Despite any potential efforts to render aid, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of his untimely death was determined to be gun violence.
The investigation into King's death swiftly moved forward, and authorities identified a person of interest. This led to the arrest of 40-year-old Jimmy Tillman II, also a resident of Shreveport. As the judicial process began to unfold, the case was presented to a Caddo Grand Jury. On January 24, 2024, the grand jury returned a true bill of indictment against Tillman, formally charging him with second-degree murder in connection with the fatal shooting of Kevin King that had occurred on October 19, 2023. The legal proceedings against Tillman are ongoing as he faces the serious charge for his alleged role in the incident that ended a man's life.
