On May 9, 2024, Alexis Notto, a 31-year-old African American woman, was tragically shot and killed outside her home in Scott, Louisiana, as she was preparing to leave for work. The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Rendezvous Road. Authorities responded to a distress call and found Alexis deceased at the scene. Her live-in boyfriend, 29-year-old Jaquell Carter, was arrested at the scene and charged with second-degree murder.
