In the early morning hours of July 23, 2024, a sense of unease settled over a mobile home on M.L.K. Street in Amite, Louisiana. Inside, 27-year-old Chrissy Jenkins and her boyfriend, Christopher Hegwood, were confronted with a fatal encounter. Just before 5 a.m., a distress call was made to 911.
