In the early morning hours of October 25, 2024, the life of 19-year-old Aieron Thomas was tragically cut short in her Amite, Louisiana home. A mother-to-be, Thomas was 13 weeks pregnant at the time of her death. Deputies from the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office discovered her unresponsive on Bankston Road around 7 a.m., having sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the chest.
The investigation quickly focused on her live-in boyfriend, 22-year-old Demarcus Womack.
During questioning, Womack admitted to shooting Thomas and attempting to conceal the evidence. His confession led investigators to the murder weapon, which he had buried.
Womack was arrested and faced charges of second-degree murder, second-degree feticide, and obstruction of justice. In February 2026, he was sentenced to 55 years in prison for the killing of his pregnant girlfriend. Aieron's mother, Veronica Thomas, remembered her daughter as a beautiful, smart, and independent young woman who had been excited about becoming a mother.
