On October 25, 2024, a tragic incident occurred in Amite, Louisiana, resulting in the death of 19-year-old Aieron Thomas, who was 13 weeks pregnant. The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office (TPSO) received a call just before 7 a.m. to a home on Bankston Road, where deputies found Thomas unresponsive. Upon arrival, they discovered that Thomas had been shot once in the chest and did not survive the injury.
