In the late summer of 2024, the community of Broussard, Louisiana, was shaken by a violent crime that cut short the life of a local man. On the evening of Monday, July 29th, shots rang out in the 300 block of Country Run Drive, a residential area within Lafayette Parish. When law enforcement arrived at the scene, they discovered the body of 39-year-old Cortsy John Cormier. He had been fatally wounded by gunfire.
