On July 29, 2024, a fatal shooting occurred in the 300 block of Country Run Drive in Broussard, Louisiana, resulting in the death of 39-year-old Cortsy John Cormier. Deputies from the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office responded to the scene around 7:00 p.m. on Monday, where they found Cormier, who was identified as the victim.
