On August 4, 2024, a double shooting occurred at an apartment complex on Chad Drive in Addis, Louisiana, resulting in the death of 24-year-old Javontae Green. According to the Addis Police Department and the West Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office, two males were struck by gunfire during the incident. Javontae Green was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was left in critical condition.
