In the late afternoon of December 8, 2023, a concerned citizen in Louisville, Kentucky, noticed a vehicle that had been left running for some time outside an apartment complex in the 3300 block of Breckenridge Lane, near the Klondike neighborhood. A call was placed to the Louisville Metro Police Department, and at approximately 3:50 p.m., Sixth Division officers arrived on the scene to investigate the running passenger vehicle.
Upon their approach, the officers discovered a tragic scene.
Inside the car were two men, both unresponsive and suffering from gunshot wounds. The men were later identified as 27-year-old Troy D. Young Jr., a Black male, and 28-year-old Rashon Tyler Holloway. Emergency Medical Services were dispatched to the location, but their efforts were in vain as both Mr. Young and Mr. Holloway were pronounced dead at the scene.
The initial investigation by the LMPD's Homicide Unit is working to piece together the events that led to the fatal shootings. Authorities are trying to determine the relationship between the two victims and the circumstances that placed them in that vehicle on that fateful afternoon. As of now, the case remains unsolved, with no suspects identified and no arrests made. The police are actively seeking information from the public to help move the investigation forward and have encouraged anyone with details, no matter how insignificant they may seem, to contact their anonymous tip line.
