On a quiet Friday evening in the Lewisburg area of Mason County, Kentucky, the sound of gunfire shattered the peace on Marshall Station Road. On December 8, 2023, 32-year-old Justin Mitchell, a White male, was fatally shot. When law enforcement arrived at the scene around 10:30 p.m., they found Mitchell deceased. Another man, 45-year-old Earnest Nickell, was also discovered with serious injuries from the shooting and was quickly airlifted to a hospital for medical attention.
