In the early evening of May 11, 2024, tragedy struck in a residential area of Lyndon, a community within Louisville, Kentucky. Adrian Lewis, a 31-year-old Black man, was fatally shot in the 8300 block of Doncaster Way. First responders from the St. Matthews Fire and EMS arrived at the scene around 5:30 p.m. to find Lewis suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at the location.
Witnesses at the apartment complex reported hearing gunfire and seeing a gray Kia flee the scene. Some accounts detailed two men exiting the vehicle and opening fire into the back of another car. The Lyndon Police Department initiated the investigation, quickly seeking assistance from the Louisville Metro Police Department's 8th Division and Homicide Unit to unravel the violent encounter that had taken a young man's life. In the immediate aftermath, law enforcement had no suspects and appealed to the public for any information that could lead to an arrest.
For months, the case remained under active investigation. Then, in September of 2025, a significant breakthrough occurred. On September 15, 2025, Andre Jackson was taken into custody in connection with the murder of Adrian Lewis. Shortly after, on September 29, 2025, the Louisville Metro Police Department's Criminal Interdiction Division, Fugitive Unit, and SWAT team located and arrested a second suspect, 24-year-old Andrew Jackson. Both men were indicted in Lewis's death, with Andrew Jackson facing charges of complicity to murder, complicity to tampering with physical evidence, and complicity to receiving stolen property valued at $10,000 or more, among other charges. With the apprehension of both indicted individuals, the authorities confirmed that all parties they sought in connection with the case were in custody.
