On September 9, 2024, Jackie "Dutch" McNew Jr. was fatally shot in Lincoln County, Kentucky. The incident occurred following a dispute on U.S. 27 South in the area.

The suspect in this case is Jack McNew, the 72-year-old father of the victim. According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Jack McNew has been arrested and charged with murder and burglary in connection with the shooting of his son.
