Lucas Allen Forbes, a 30-year-old resident of Albany, Oregon, tragically lost his life due to a domestic violence incident on January 25, 2024. The incident occurred when Albany Police Department responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting that Forbes' girlfriend, Hami W. Lee, had shot him in the head.
Forbes was found near the front door of the residence with a gunshot wound to his head.
Despite immediate medical attention, he succumbed to his injuries the following day, January 26, 2024, at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Hami W. Lee, 34, was taken into custody at the scene and initially faced charges related to domestic violence. Following Forbes' death, the charges against Lee were upgraded to Manslaughter in the First Degree. She is currently being held at the Linn County Jail.
Lucas Allen Forbes, affectionately known as 'Bear,' was a dedicated son, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He left behind a 13-year-old daughter, Autumn Rayne Forbes, his mother Shawna Hopkins, sister Katie May, nephew Caleb, and brother Casey, among other family members and friends. Professionally, Forbes was committed to the fields of mental health and nursing, having recently earned his CNA Certification. He also served in the Army for three years starting at the age of 17.
Forbes was remembered for his vibrant presence, infectious smile, and larger-than-life personality. He enjoyed music, gaming with his daughter and friends, and spending time with those he loved. His community and family are deeply affected by his untimely death, which has left a profound sense of anger, pain, and emptiness.
