On the morning of June 16, 1972, Joseph Neimi Zaloom, a 79-year-old man, was found severely injured in the 300 block of SW 5th Avenue in Albany, Oregon. It was believed that Zaloom had been assaulted after leaving a nearby social club, which was located where City Hall now stands.
