In the quiet community of Glide, Oregon, a neighborhood dispute on the evening of June 25, 2024, escalated into a tragedy that claimed the life of 53-year-old Stephen Lynn Foster Jr., a White/Caucasian male. Shortly before 10:30 p.m., emergency services received a 911 call reporting a shooting in the 400-block of Goodreau Lane.
Upon their arrival, deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office discovered that bystanders were attempting to perform life-saving measures on Foster, who
had sustained at least one gunshot wound. Despite these efforts and the response of emergency medical services, Foster was pronounced deceased at the scene. The initial investigation revealed that the shooting stemmed from an altercation between neighbors.
Law enforcement officials at the scene detained a male suspect who was involved in the dispute. While the authorities have not publicly released the name of the individual taken into custody, they have stated that he is cooperating with the ongoing investigation being conducted by detectives from the Sheriff's Office and the Douglas County Medical Examiner's Office. At this time, no charges have been filed in connection with the fatal shooting as the investigation continues.
