In the late evening of July 6, 2023, tragedy struck in Boston's Roxbury neighborhood, forever altering the lives of a local family. Tywon Meek, a 19-year-old Black / African American male, was fatally shot near a playground on Leyland Street. Boston Police Department officers responded to a call for a person shot at approximately 11:49 PM. Upon their arrival, they discovered Meek suffering from gunshot wounds.
