In the early hours of Saturday, August 17, 2024, a dispute in New Bedford, Massachusetts, turned fatal, claiming the life of 26-year-old Nicholas Miller of Bridgewater. Shortly before 1 a.m., New Bedford Police received 911 calls reporting a fight between males and the sound of a gunshot in the vicinity of 36 Acushnet Avenue.
Upon their arrival, first responders discovered Miller suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to St.
Luke's Hospital for emergency medical treatment. Despite the efforts of medical staff, Nicholas Miller was pronounced deceased at 2:42 a.m.
The Bristol County District Attorney's Office has confirmed that Miller's death is the subject of an active and ongoing homicide investigation. The investigation is being conducted by Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the district attorney's office, in conjunction with New Bedford Police and prosecutors from the Homicide Unit. At this time, authorities have not announced any arrests in connection with the shooting, and no information regarding any potential suspects has been released to the public.
