In the early morning hours of Saturday, September 14, 2024, the life of 33-year-old Steven Hernandez, a male resident of Lawrence, Massachusetts, was tragically cut short. Lawrence Police responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 7 a.m. on the 300 block of Water Street. Upon arrival, they discovered Hernandez suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical technicians rendered aid at the scene before he was transported to Lawrence General Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Pizarro, a 33-year-old from the neighboring city of Methuen, was arrested in Boston by the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section. Pizarro was subsequently charged with the murder of Steven Hernandez.
During his arraignment in Lawrence District Court, Thomas Pizarro pleaded not guilty to the murder charge. The court ordered him to be held without bail. The case against Pizarro is being prosecuted by the Essex County District Attorney's Office.
