On May 20, 2024, Erika Painter, a 30-year-old Caucasian woman, was found deceased in a rural area of Wayne County, Indiana. Deputies from the Wayne County Sheriff's Office discovered her body while conducting a welfare check in the first block of Farlow Road, located about five miles south of downtown Richmond. Painter, a resident of Centerville, Indiana, had sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
At the scene, authorities also found 38-year-old Dustin Creech of Richmond with a gunshot wound. A
