In the early morning hours of September 8, 2024, the life of 35-year-old Cordarryl Russell Duncan was tragically cut short in Indianapolis, Indiana. Duncan, a Black/African American man, was discovered by police responding to a report of a person shot around 3:20 a.m. in the 2900 block of North Sherman Drive.
Upon their arrival at the scene, near the intersection of East 30th Street and North Sherman Drive, officers found Duncan outside, suffering from gunshot wounds.
Despite the immediate efforts of emergency medical responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Duncan was originally from Waukegan, Illinois.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is actively investigating the homicide. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with Duncan's death, and no suspects have been publicly identified. Detective Christopher Winter is leading the investigation, and authorities have urged anyone with information regarding the shooting to come forward and contact the IMPD Homicide Office or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana. The case remains unsolved as the search for those responsible continues.
