Tyonie Ashford, a 17-year-old resident of Oak Forest, Illinois, was fatally shot on January 28, 2023. The incident occurred in the afternoon, with the shooting reported around 1:20 p.m. in the 15500 block of Cicero Avenue. Ashford was found behind a building at this location, suffering from a single gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Ashford was immediately rendered aid by officers before being transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead.
