On April 29, 2013, 33-year-old Paris Quentin Matthews was shot and killed in Ocean City, Florida, at the Rene Lynn Apartments on Woodham Street. The incident occurred around midnight, when two unidentified men knocked on Matthews' door. As he opened it, the men forced their way inside, shooting Matthews once. Despite attempting to flee out the front door, he collapsed at the threshold and later succumbed to his injuries at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center.
