On March 4, 2023, Jamel Fields, a 28-year-old African American male, was fatally shot in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood. The incident occurred around 12:45 p.m. in the 1000 block of West 59th Street. At the time, Jamel Fields was inside a vehicle when an unidentified assailant fired into the car, striking him in the left shoulder.
