Ronnie L. Peterson, a 40-year-old African American male, was found fatally shot on February 16, 2020, in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago. Officers responding to a ShotSpotter alert around 8:56 p.m. discovered Peterson lying on the ground in the 700 block of West 50th Street with gunshot wounds to his face and leg.
