Stephen Perkins, a 36-year-old African American man, was tragically shot and killed on June 20, 2022, in Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred around noon in the Austin neighborhood on the city's West Side. Perkins was sitting in the driver's seat of a parked car in the 5400 block of West Haddon Avenue when he was shot multiple times.
