On June 27, 2023, Samuel Lewis Larry Sprewer IV, a 16-year-old resident of Chicago, Illinois, was fatally shot while walking down the street in the North Lawndale area on the West Side of Chicago. The incident occurred around 1:10 p.m. in the 4100 block of West 15th Street, where a Kia approached, and someone inside the vehicle opened fire, striking Samuel in the head and hand.
