On July 19, 2023, 24-year-old musician Princeton "Pmack" Mack was fatally shot in Chicago's Jeffrey Manor neighborhood, specifically in the 9700 block of South Merrion Avenue. Known for his funny and bubbly personality, Mack was remembered as protective and destined for greatness. He was affectionately called "Juscap" by those close to him.
Prior to his death, Mack was involved in a 2021 incident in DeKalb, Illinois, where he fatally shot a 21-year-old man who had attempted to rob him.
During this incident, Mack was approached by two men, one of whom threatened him with a gun. In self-defense, Mack drew his own weapon and shot the assailant, who later died from his injuries. Mack was taken into custody following the incident, but no charges were filed as the investigation was ongoing at that time.
Mack's untimely death adds to the tragic tally of gun violence victims in Chicago. His family, friends, and community continue to mourn his loss, lighting candles and sharing memories to honor his life and legacy.
