On August 17, 2023, a tragic shooting occurred in Watseka, Illinois, resulting in the deaths of two individuals, including 38-year-old Joseph Robinson. The incident took place on the 300 block of West North Street, where Illinois State Police found Robinson and 42-year-old Amanda Peterson dead inside a home.

A 21-year-old man was also found at the scene with gunshot wounds and was taken to an area hospital for treatment. He underwent surgery and was reported to be recovering.
