Miljavon Lennearl Sawyer, a 21-year-old resident of Cahokia Heights, Illinois, was found dead on August 24, 2023. The incident occurred in the 5800 block of Pocket Road in Cahokia Heights. Police officers responded to the location at approximately 3:41 PM following a report of a body in a field. Upon arrival, they discovered Sawyer's body, which had been shot multiple times and then set on fire. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
