On October 30, 2023, at approximately 11:20 p.m., 29-year-old Travon D. Harris was fatally shot while standing on the sidewalk in the 7200 block of South University Avenue in Chicago's Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood. A gray Nissan approached, and unidentified individuals fired at Harris, striking him in the head and abdomen. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. As of now, no suspects have been arrested, and Area 1 detectives are actively investigating the incident.
