On April 21, 2024, Chicago Police Officer Luis M. Huesca, a 30-year-old six-year veteran of the Chicago Police Department (CPD), was fatally shot while on his way home from work. The incident occurred in the Gage Park neighborhood on the southwest side of Chicago.
