On June 16, 2024, a fatal shooting occurred in Pembroke Township, Illinois. Deputies from the Kankakee County Sheriff's Department were dispatched to the area of 15400 E 4500S Rd in Pembroke Township at approximately 10:23 PM in response to a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, they found 39-year-old Derrick A. Dansby-Draine, a resident of Pembroke Township, who was unresponsive due to a gunshot wound. Despite immediate attention, Dansby-Draine was pronounced deceased at the scene.
