Nikko Demarcus O'Neal Whitehead, a 35-year-old resident of Chicago, Illinois, was fatally shot on June 29, 2024. The incident occurred in the Humboldt Park area, where Whitehead sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the body. He was found in the 3300 block of West Franklin Boulevard around 11:10 p.m..
Whitehead, also known as "Nikko," was identified as a member of the Vicelords gang, a gang based in Chicago.
Following the shooting, he was transported to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Nikko Whitehead had a notable presence in Chicago's drill music scene and was featured on Zack TV's YouTube channel in 2017. Zack TV, another figure in the Chicago drill scene, was also a victim of gun violence, having been shot and killed in May 2018.
Whitehead's funeral service was held on July 6, 2024, and was arranged by D Johnson Funeral Services. The service included a wake, final viewing, and burial, with a dove release ceremony. He is survived by his wife, Shawnquie, and their children, Baby Nikko and Arienique, as well as several siblings and his parents, Kimmie Whitehead and Ashwan Cody.
