On March 14, 2023, 11-year-old Asijah Love Jones was tragically killed by a stray bullet while she was sleeping in her bedroom at the Northside Hills Apartment complex, also known as Spalding Heights, in Griffin, Georgia. The incident occurred around 1 a.m. when a shootout broke out near Building J of the complex. One of the bullets, intended for someone else, traveled through Asijah's bedroom window and struck her, killing her instantly.
