On May 29, 2023, a tragic incident occurred in Grovetown, Georgia, resulting in the death of 4-year-old Phoenix Daniels. The incident happened at a residence on the 5000 block of Starlington Drive at the Sterlington Apartments. According to Grovetown Police Chief Jamey Kitchens, Phoenix's father, 24-year-old Daveon Daniels, had left a loaded 9mm Glock handgun on the floor of the residence while he went downstairs to take a phone call.
