In the quiet community of Pavo, Georgia, the evening of Friday, September 1, 2023, was shattered by an act of violence that claimed the life of 45-year-old Robert Andrew Rose. A white male, known to his friends as Robby or Rob, Rose was fatally shot inside his residence located in the 700 block of Old Pavo Road in Brooks County. The incident, which occurred at approximately 9:15 p.m., prompted an immediate response from the Brooks County Sheriff’s Office.
Given the nature of the crime,
the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was called in to lead the homicide investigation. As law enforcement officials delved into the circumstances surrounding Rose's death, their investigation led them to a suspect living under the same roof. Robert Rose’s own son, 23-year-old Rory Rose, was identified as the alleged perpetrator.
Following the initial stages of the investigation, Rory Rose was taken into custody and formally charged in connection with his father's death. The charges brought against him were severe, including Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. He was subsequently booked into the Brooks County Jail.
The investigation into the death of Robert Rose is considered active and ongoing by the GBI. Upon the conclusion of their comprehensive inquiry, the case file is slated to be handed over to the District Attorney, Brad Shealy, for prosecution. While an arrest has been made, authorities have continued to encourage anyone with information pertinent to the case to come forward to assist in bringing the matter to a complete legal resolution.
