Joshua Wayne Payton, a 27-year-old resident of Newnan, Georgia, tragically lost his life on October 12, 2023, in a double homicide incident in Smyrna, Georgia.
The incident occurred at approximately 4:40 p.m. at a location on South Cobb Drive, adjacent to a townhome community on Oakdale Road. According to the Cobb County police, a lone suspect approached the establishment and fatally shot Joshua Payton and another victim, Shawna Leonard, aged 54, before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.
