In the quiet community of Dallas, Georgia, the life of 37-year-old Jasmyn Victoria Lambert, a beloved third-grade teacher, was tragically cut short on Saturday, October 28, 2023. A mother of two, she was known for a big smile that warmly welcomed everyone she met. Her death, which occurred in her home on Topaz Drive, shattered the peace of her neighborhood and left a school community in mourning.

The events that led to her untimely death began to unfold just after midnight when a visitor at her home placed a frantic 911 call reporting a domestic dispute and home invasion. Her estranged husband, 42-year-old Tyron Victor Lambert of Hiram, had forcibly entered the residence through a back door. Once inside, he brandished a firearm, threatening multiple people within the house. Before law enforcement could arrive, Tyron fled the scene. Deputies with the Paulding County Sheriff's Office responded to the initial call, initiated a report, and began the process of securing a warrant for his arrest, while also placing the home on a special 'zone patrol' and issuing a 'Be On The Lookout' alert for him and his vehicle.

The situation escalated dramatically several hours later. At approximately 7:12 a.m., a second 911 call was made from the residence, frantically reporting that Tyron Lambert had returned, once again armed and forcing his way into the home through the same rear door. As deputies rushed back to the scene, a single gunshot was heard. They discovered Tyron attempting to flee from the back of the house and were able to apprehend him after a brief struggle. Inside, they found Jasmyn Lambert suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. She was transported to Wellstar Paulding Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Tyron Victor Lambert was taken into custody and booked into the Paulding County Jail without bond. He faces a litany of charges, including malice murder, murder-family violence, home invasion, and cruelty to children. It was later revealed that Jasmyn had previously sought a protective order against her estranged husband, though it had expired prior to her death. The Cobb County School District, where Jasmyn taught at Still Elementary School, issued a heartfelt statement expressing their grief and made grief counselors available to students and staff.
