In a tragic encounter at a Chamblee, Georgia gas station on March 18, 2024, a young man's life was cut short. Anderson Adonay-Perdomo, a 23-year-old Hispanic male from Honduras, was fatally shot in the torso around 12:35 p.m. at a QuikTrip on Chamblee Tucker Road. Witnesses reported that Perdomo had been approaching various people at the gas pumps asking for money.
The situation escalated when Perdomo approached the vehicle of 26-year-old Quinterius Sutton.
For reasons that ended in a fatal outcome, Sutton shot Perdomo once in the torso. Following the shooting, Sutton fled the scene. Emergency services were called, and Perdomo was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries later that day.
Law enforcement officials were able to track Sutton's vehicle to East Point, Georgia, using automated license plate readers. He was taken into custody within a couple of hours of the shooting. Sutton was subsequently booked into the DeKalb County jail.
Quinterius Sutton has been charged with murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and driving without a valid license. It was also reported that at the time of this incident, Sutton was wanted in connection with another fatal shooting that had occurred in August of the previous year. The family of Anderson Adonay-Perdomo, who had been in the United States for about five years, described him as a respectful person and were left to mourn a life taken unexpectedly.
