Steven Halonen

Murdered

Steven William Halonen, born on July 17, 1950, in Sandstone, Minnesota, was the son of William and Sylvia (McLain) Halonen. He attended local schools and pursued higher education at the University of Minnesota Duluth. His studies were interrupted when he was drafted to serve in the Vietnam War, from which he was honorably discharged in 1972. Upon returning, Steven took over his father's construction business, which later became known as Halonen Construction.
